Gilmore Building Co., Inc. is a full service residential builder offering planning, custom designing and building services for remodeling and new home construction projects. Our clients include homeowners and land owners developing land for housing. Formed in 2004, we operate primarily in Central and Eastern Massachusetts. We are located in Grafton, MA, at One Grafton Common.
We specialize in providing both project design and building under one roof. This process is referred to as the design build approach and it is an industry best practice. It allows our clients to profit from the efficiency of having one project manager take their ideas through the design and the construction.
Our signature product is the new-old home. For Gilmore Building Co., this design concept means the artful combination of old New England traditional architecture from the 18th and 19th centuries, innovative building technologies, and today’s convenient living amenities in a new home.
Our Company is a Registered Home Improvement Contractor with the Commonwealth of MA Board of Building Regulations and Standards. Its Construction Supervisors are Licensed as such by the Commonwealth of MA.
We are fully insured, maintaining continuously in effect General Liability, Non-Owned / Hired Auto and Worker’s Compensation insurances. We also requires our sub-contractors to carry the same insurances.

Gilmore Building Co.’s “client first” is captured in its goal which is to assist clients in creating lasting value in their projects while making the project completion process pleasant and satisfying. This goal is achievable because of the products we provide and the methods we use to produce them.
Our products are created beginning with the new old home architectural design concept. New-old homes are of the timeless traditional New England architectural styling, and they are based on classical architectural design principles. These residential construction projects are built by craftsmen and they incorporate the latest Green Building products and technologies that reduce energy demand and promote environmental sustainability.
How we produce our products begins with skilled people using rigorous project production systems. These systems are an “all project phases” design build approach, detailed project management controls and a formal computer-based general accounting system that is tied directly to project cost accounting.
This business model as set by Eric L. Gilmore, the Company’s founder, is anchored in this commitment to client service. It flows from his work experience in residential and commercial construction and, especially, from the education he acquired. He has supervised the construction of projects since 1995, completing, with regard to home building, approximately 150 projects having project costs ranging from 50,000 to over 1 million dollars. His education includes an undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and a Master of Science degree in Construction Project Management from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts. Additionally, he is a licensed Construction Supervisor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
