New Home Owner Inspired Design - Mendon Street

As wonderfully creative and forward looking people, the homeowners purchased an existing home that was located on many beautiful acres of land in a rural Central MA town.  Because the home was very small and so neglected, the property was purchased with the idea that the home would be torn down and a new one built next to it.  The vision for the new home was to have it look like an old New England schoolhouse complete with a bell tower. A photo of the new home is on the right.

Gilmore Building Co. utilized its New Old Home design concept and designed the new home to look old but be efficient and open to accommodate a young family’s life style. The home was built with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a very large 3rd floor music room / music studio for this family of musicians.  To maximize the value under a conservative budget, a hybrid approach was used that combined factory-built components with traditional stick-building.

Post-project Testimonial:  “Gilmore Building Co. provided us with an excellent final product with support all the way from the planning phase to project completion.  We feel that Eric Gilmore made this project happen when no other builder would have (including recommendations for financing, careful planning and patience with our timeline).  Eric listened to our vision and implemented it keeping scope and budget in balance.”
