Adding More than one addition
Project Story
Gilmore Building Co worked with the Owner and DIMAURO ARCITECTS, INC of Newport, RI, to complete this extensive remodeling project that also contained multiple additions. The additions contained a new master suite, sunroom, roof deck, covered patio, office and greenhouse.
In one of the additions, a design vision to blend indoor and outdoor living was accomplished. An end wall of the sunroom completely folds back on itself to allow for easy indoor outdoor living. Associated remodeling included a master bath, dining room, main foyer, kitchen and mudroom.
The second addition on right side of the home incorporates a greenhouse and office space.
Finally, while working on the additions, we were asked to make the home more energy efficient by updating the heating and cooling systems, adding insulation and completely waterproofing, insulating and controlling the moisture that was infiltrating the original fieldstone foundation.

Newly conceived outdoor living area
Beautiful painted wood island with antique pendant lights that are reminiscent of the original period of the home.
Plenty of counter space in upgraded kitchen
Remodeled kitchen showing cabinets, countertops. appliances, flooring, windows and window trim.
Added 1/2 bath under the grand foyer stairs and new period correct front door. Woodwork style and stain matched to existing millwork.
Built-in desk area that is part of new kitchen.
