Gilmore Building Company, Inc.  worked with the Client's architect, our engineers and the Client to create this new old home.  Its design is one of the many traditional New England style homes built by Gilmore Building Co. in Central MA.     Its design was inspired by and is therefore, reminiscent of the romantic houses found in New England during the early to mid 19th century.

The idea of a new old home means it looks 200 years old from the curb but it is fully modern inside, energy efficient, and complete with all the conveniences needed by a family today.  It looks like old New England from the curb, but it is new construction requiring low energy consumption and low maintenance.

In this build a precast foundation, structural insulated panels, roof trusses and a hybrid HVAC system was utilized.  Furthermore, extensive site engineering and landscape design work was done to make sure the home seamlessly fits into the rocky site across from the picturesque lake.
