I could write pages about my experience with Gilmore Building Company, but I’ll attempt to keep it brief. Building a house is one of the largest financial investments you will ever work through in life, and choosing a builder that will be on your side through the good and the bad is absolutely critical in making the project a success. I work in the pharmaceutical construction industry, so I live in the world of contracts and construction. I see the type of horror shows that can quickly evolve without appropriate project management and execution.
That being said, Gilmore absolutely exceeded my expectations, which were quite high to begin with. Our project, like any typical construction project, had its share of issues, delays, impacts, which were born significantly outside of the project itself. Gilmore helped us to strategize, and mitigate the issues as they came forward in order to keep the project on track. I could list the many hurdles we had to face, and resolution to each of them, but will simply say that Gilmore’s employees and leadership have the experience and knowledge to handle anything that gets thrown at them.
We interviewed many builders before deciding on Gilmore, yet Eric’s enthusiasm, knowledge base and innovation-centric approach sealed the deal for us. My wife and I are engineers, and it was evident that Eric’s company is well positioned to seek ways to improve comfort, cost effectiveness and efficiencies into his projects. With Eric having set the foundation for our project to move forward, we were then linked up with Julie, their interior designer support, to help guide us in the right direction with our selections – we thoroughly appreciate her hand in making sure our new house was the home we would be happy in. We were then handed over to Lou and Ernie – both of which were extremely pleasant to work with. Updates were provided timely, whenever there was a concern or question, discussions were had and resolutions found. Even after the project completed, support to close out the minor issues were never a concern.
Overall, with all the horror stories of building a home, and clients being upset with their builders’ performance in one way or another, we could not be happier we selected Gilmore. Thank you to Eric, Julie, Lou, Ernie, and anyone else I may have missed, you truly made our lives happier. All of your support and long discussions through this journey will not be forgotten.
